The correct answer here shows both verbs in imperfect tense. Why is using preterite in the first clause and imperfect in the second clause incorrect? The lesson shows both examples in the past tense.

Hello, my question is how to turn off any references to Latin American Spanish. I don't want to get instruction on this version.
I am using Kwiziq for European Spanish. Recently the program has been giving me more and more questions that require Latin American Spanish. This is pretty frustrating and a waste of my time. Especially around the use of "ya" and preterite tense.

Kwiziq answer "Nosotros fuimos recogidas por tu padre". We were picked up by your father. It didn't state the gender of the group. I chose Nosotros fuimos recogidos por tu padre assuming a male or mixed group but it was marked incorrect. Please can you explain

Everytime I go into lawless Spanish and log in it takes around 30 seconds to a minute to log me in, other websites don't do that so why yours?

I suggest rather than "Using como as "if" (subordinate conditional clause)" this lesson be titled "Using como + subjunctive as "if" (subordinate conditional clause)".
