I currently am focusing on Latin American Spanish, specifically Mexican Spanish / Californian. What are the differences in vocabulary?

I came across a sentence in a book I was reading and it said, 

"ya no se sienten ganas de beber"

I understand "ganas" as a noun meaning that they are stating they do not have the "desire" to drink I think. 

Why is sentirse used instead of sentir when "ganas" is the direct object?

There has to be some loose English equivalent of this mood. The best I can think of:

“He will be so daring!”

even if it’s very archaic. Even then “would” would be much more acceptable. Any ideas?

If I want to say:  "You bought more than enough"

Is there any significant difference between:

Compraste más que suficiente

and 

Compraste más que bastante

or are they essentially synonymous?

"Su familia la quiere mucho y, para ser sinceros, ha hecho muchos sacrificios por sus hijos." quote from cloze exercise

I do not understand to whom 'para ser sinceros' refers to.  Does it refer to 'su familia' or Eva, the daughter who made the sacrifices? 

Why is 'sinceros' plural since it refers to a singular noun, either su familia or Eva?

This sentence doesn't make much sense to me.

I understand the need for para in para ser sinceros to mean in order to be sincere, but I am confused as to why sinceros is plural and to whom it refers.

I'm confused why the answer for #10 is cierto when the translation is "some/a bit" and not "certain."
