"Why did you tell Luisa......" seems to me to need the indefinite object pronoun as in "¿Por qué le habéis dicho a Luisa...." but this answer is marked as incorrect. Why? Isn't it actually the correct way to say this part of the sentence even though I haven't gotten to a lesson about these pronouns?
Hola!
Quiero saber si los personas mexicano dicen "j" para "ll" y "y" o es un "y" sonido? Vivo en California y quiero sonar mas natural para mi comunidad. Gracias por todo!
(Sorry if my Spanish is broken, I just restarted learning)
why is No todavía hemos cenado. marked wrong
Why isn't the personal "a" used, "hacia A sus padres"?
I can't see the difference in meaning between the English of the first and second examp;es in the lesson, so how can I decode on Indicative or Subjubctive?
Would be great to have another column in the table above with example sentences, or just the verb in action.
I know e.g. how to use "doler" -> me/te/etc. duele, but I don't know it for e.g. "caer bien".
That way I wouldn't need to change the tab and tell ChatGPT to write down the examples.
At first when I saw Trifle in the translation I thought of a pudding (postre). Ha ha. I don’t think trifle is the correct word to use for the translation of tontería in this example. Perhaps use ‘something trivial / trivial thing’
I don't feel like there is good guidance in this. I see what appears to be mixed modes- Mi and ti, but not nos- it's nosotros. If nosotros is the valid pronoun for this form, why is ti valid and tu not valid? There is no guidance here and I am constantly getting these screwed up. To me, nosotros=we, nos=us, and nuestra=our. I get it if they truly use those in that way, but please call it out as an exception so I know to memorize it that way. Otherwise I am trying to find and fit a pattern and am hitting the wall trying to pass these tests in a way that I know I can replicate this in a week or a month from now and get it correctly then as well, and not just memorize it long enough to pass the test today.
Hola Inma,
Having read your reply to David I'm still a bit lost. Many of the phrases were translated in the past tense for example "We lit the fireplace" and "we sat in front of it" etc but all took the pretérito perfecto because they occurred today "Hoy". However, "We loved seeing how the firewood was consumed" was the only phrase given in the pretérito indefinido and expanded in the imperfecto.
There must be something about the phrase that calls for this construction. Can you give me a pointer?
Saludos. John
