Can you explain the function of “lo” in Ella lo huele todo? Is it because oler needs an object?
Shouldn't "Susana nos habia pedido..." translates not as "Susana has asked us...", but rather "Susana had asked us..."?
From the examples given it's hard to tell why a native speaker would choose one of these adverbs in preference to another one in any given situation. Is there any guidance on this? Why would I choose 'igual' over 'lo mismo', for example, if they both mean the same thing?

This was the question: How would you say "When I put the parasol on the beach it always blows away."?
If this is something that always happens, why was it wrong to use the indicative? I don't see the future here.

I just figured out why I'm missing all the "usted" questions. When I go study verb charts, none of them even list the formal, so I have incorrectly using the second person plural.
But why? I've been told that it's hardly used, and if they don't even include it in the conjugation charts, . . . Really?
