Why is it 'no le conocen' and not 'no lo conocen'?

Hola Kathryn,

Actually the "model" aswer should be using "lo conocen". Conocer is a transitive verb and therefore the pronoun for "him" should be "lo". We will adjust the answers in the exercise to reflect this.

So that you know, in this case, when "lo" is referring to "him" (male, singular), "le" is very commonly used in lots of areas in Spain. This is so common that the Royal Academy of Spanish accepts this use of le (instead of lo).
