Would we use this format:  quiero medio kilo de res molido, quiero un mitad de una copa de vino, añade tres cuartos de una tasa de azucar, dame doble de lo que diste a él.  Thanks.  (PS The return key doesn’t work in this question box on the iPad.)

Lo que dice Eva H. sobre mezclar frutas es muy cierto. Las posibilidades son ilimitadas, como el universo. Pero, todas las frutas tienen diferentes niveles de digestibilidad y mezclar una fruta ácida con una alcalina puede causar indigestión, dolorosa o no. Creo que la gente inculta ha asumido que como la "fruta" se considera ser "sana", al combinar muchas frutas los resultados serán "más sanos".  Sin embargo, una macedonia de frutas suele ser la causa de un dolor de barriga y, por supuesto, que las zanahorias y las espinacas sean "saludables" también, no significa que su adición a un zumo de frutas lo mejore.

Another explanation I have seen tells that when the pronoun is part of a phrase within brackets we should be using el que etc rather than just que.  I have fed  the sentence into the respected SpanishChecker with both alternatives and neither was identified as wrong.

 Here the newspaper is sold cheaply.

I realize "barato" can work as an adjective or an adverb, but given its placement within the sentence used in the example, this reads to me like "The cheap newspaper is sold here," as if the expensive newspaper is sold across the street—they probably charge you just to look at the headlines!
