Use of Cuando with subjunctive and Present/Future IndicativeBoth of these sentences are talking about a future event so the present subjunctive is used after cuando. The second clause in one is future indicative and the other is present indicative. What is the difference? Is the difference the close future (go to the store today) vs. the distant future (be a doctor in ten years)? Or the probabilility of occuring more the issue as to which to use present indicative or future indicative.

Cuando sea mayor, seré médico.When I am older, I will be a doctor.Cuando vayas al mercado compra fruta y verdura.When you go to the market, buy fruit and vegetables.

Also, when the subjunctive is used is it always part of the cuando clause?

Need more clarity

Past tenses are confusing and these lessons do not have enough of an explainer. In this Idefinite Past, I see:

Ella hizo una tarta para mi cumpleaños.She made a cake for my birthday.

But, under the Present Perfect lesson, I see:

He hecho un pastel de chocolate.I made a chocolate cake.

There is not enough information to distinguish between the two forms. I do not see the difference. "I made a cake" and "she made a cake" are identical in format, yet different. If both answers are correct- after all, there are often several ways to say the same thing, I think that needs to be reflected here if that is the case.

Can you explain?

Pronoun, not article

Inma, in your answer to Sierra, you said "Your answer is correct using the article." But as Sierra correctly said in her question, "Él" in this case is a prounoun, not the article "el".

"It's a good job..." seems to be a bad translation. Perhaps you meant to write "it's a good thing..."

Future/ closer future

Hola,

I can already hear myself overthinking, and then checking myself in regards this!

Is a fair way of thinking about this, that:

Imperfect subj - general usage

Present subj - if it feels like it's about to happen

?

Does it change the meaning when present tense is used instead of future tense?

The lesson should also explain whether the meaning is the same if these sentences use the future tense instead. Thank you.
