Lo+ Adv/Adj + que + verb Que tan /cuan + Adv/ AdjHola Inma:
Are these
phrases interchangeable?
Lo+ Adv/Adj + que + verb
Que tan /cuan + Adv/ Adj
Let's use test question #3 for these purposes:
"¡____
es ese monumento!"
Of course the correct answer is:
"¡Lo feo que es ese monumento!"
With regard to this structure (Lo+ Adv/Adj + que + verb) the
lesson states it is used to express surprise/admiration/disappointment
about how something/someone performs an action or about what someone/something
is like.
The lesson for the
structure (Que tan /cuan + Adv/ Adj) states that it is used to ASK about
the degree or extent of a specific quality. Yet one of the example is
not a question:
"Carlos, muéstrale
a Valentina qué tan bien bailas merengue." The phrase is being used in
regard to a "specific quality," i.e., "... how well... ."
Question:for these purposes, is not ugliness a specific quality.
(a) if so, could we not also use the structure (Que tan /cuan + Adv/ Adj): ¡Qué
tan feo es ese monumento! Thank you
in advance.
I don't understand the example sentence " Ninguna chica viajará contigo a ninguna parte". The tip says that you can only use the words "ningun" or "Ninguna" at the beginning of a sentence, so this example sentence does not make sense to me since " Ninguna" Is found towards the end of the sentence too. Thank you.
There seems to be no pattern regarding when the nationality/adjective is -es or -as. In this question, it women are -es. In other questions, it is-as Nosotras vivimos en Dublin pero Sokos portuguesas. What am I missing?
1. ¡no puedo tomar ese riesgo! Un this case would be acceptable to use "el riesgo" or even "este riesgo" instead of "ese riesgo"?
2. Is "mirar la tele" acceptable or does mirar mean something else in this context?
Thanks!
These seem to be my achilleas heal.
Los niños, jugando en el parque, nos recordanban a nuestra infancia.
The boys, playing in the park, reminded us of our childhood.
En la cuestion:
"Tú tenías miedo de que ________ de mal humor.
You were afraid that I had come in a bad mood."Mi respuesta fue: yo hubiera venido, pero el sistema dijo que el correcto es hubiera venido. Por qué no puedo usar el yo?
Why is the answer "Debo enviar" wrong for this question ________ el enlace incorrecto. I have probably sent the wrong link. (HINT: Express strong assumption/supposition). If I have understood the lesson correctly "deber + infiinitive" is used for obligation but is also accepted as a strong assumption.

In English these are sometimes interchangeable. Could one say "However much it costs.../ Whatever it costs..." using either 'cueste lo que cueste...' or 'cueste como cueste...' ?
