In a quiz the question: How would you say "His name is Alan"? was marked incorrect when I answered: Te llamas Alan. It looks like this is correct. Am I missing something_
Luis y yo no hemos roto ________ nos hemos dado un tiempo para pensar.
Luis and I haven't broken up but we gave each other some time to think.
I don't understand why this sentence doesn't use pero. Doesn't it make a contrast or limitation to the idea expressed in the previous clause?
My dictionary gives "un fenómeno" - not "un fénomeno"?
Hi,
Just wanted to share a thought as a person using this platform to learn Spanish. At the end of the exercise when you show the whole text in Spanish, I feel like it would be helpful if you showed the entire text in English as well, as it would help in trying to look back at how you translated everything as a whole.
I really enjoy your reading practices. Good pacing and vocabulary complex enough for me to learn it well.
In the example: Estamos buscando una farmacia para comprar paracetamol. We are looking for a chemist to buy some paracetamol. Is a chemist a pharmacy or a pharmacist?
I'm trying to figure out if you need the personal a if it is just a particular person and not if it is the name of a person's job. So here, if chemist is a pharmacist, I don't use a personal a because it isn't a specific person.
OR.
If the personal a is for any person and here chemist is a pharmacy, not a pharmacist.
Thanks!
Tara
The test asked me for the correct verb to use with the sentence "Tu ***** la primero de la lista" - this seemed to be a temporary thing, so I chose "estas". The right answer was "eres" - i.e. a permanent state.
I am confused - can anyone explain why use ser rather than estar in this case?
I put 'en mitad de' and was marked wrong. According to your lesson on that topic they are sinónimos.
Please clarify
Gracias
