I am struggling to work out the semantic structure and 'rationale' of this piece: "Ni qué decir tiene que no necesitas, ni flores en el pelo, ni vestido de flamenca,..." - particularly its first four words?

Hello, is there some connotation needed for this to trigger the Preterite? Like "These two centuries out of the 5000 years we're talking about"? Or at least "These two very specific centuries"? As opposed to "For two full centuries, which is pretty much forever", where I would have expected the Imperfect.

Ella se mudó allí hace dos meses.   Is this correct?  The lesson says we can't use the preterite with hace + time.

I was planning to go for a holiday - pienso ir de vacaciones, pensaba ir de vacaciones. Iba a ir de vacaciones. Does all these mean the same thing ? Ir in imperfect + a + infinitive seems very similar to pensar + infinite. In this case, do we use pensar in present tense or in imperfect (same as the way IR is used) ? 

How to we express to brainwash someone? For example: Luis brainwashed the whole group into believing he was a god.

Why “ello”? Despedida is feminine. 

Paco ________ una manifestación en la ciudad.  Your answer:  Paco ha visto...Paco saw a demonstration in the city.(HINT: Conjugate “ver” in El Pretérito Perfecto)Why would this sentence use a perfect tense, when the event is clearly finished?Paco ha visto... - Paco has seen...  is very different than Paco saw. 

I just wrote sonriais in a blank on a test and it marked my answer "almost right", and gave the right answer as "sonriáis".
