Conjunctions are the connecting part of speech - they link words, phrases and clauses into more complex, related structures.

There are two types of conjunctions:

Coordinating conjunctions (conjunciones coordinantes) link two equal words or clauses.
Subordinating conjunctions (conjunciones subordinantes) link a dependent clause to a main clause: the two clauses are unequal.
