I think “les” is an indirect object pronoun in this phrase. I thought a direct object pronoun would be used because it is “we helped them.” We are the subject they are the direct object. Can you explain?

Please clarify what is meant by each it. 

I assume the first it refers to the reflexive pronoun and the second  it refers to the verb.  BUT ONE CANT BE SURE

The use of “te cansas” looks like reflexive use to me.  However, when I consult the dictionary the use is described as pronominal use.  Please help me with the difference between pronominal and reflexive use.
