Hello, please would you explain why the verb SER is used in the sentence "la comida del restaurante era mala".  I'm confused which rule is used to trigger SER rather than ESTAR,

I found the following sentence in a Spanish grammar book that I am studying: “Por que es azul el cielo?” 

I thought the sentence would be: “Por que el cielo es azul?” 

What kind of rule does the first sentence fall under and how would I know when to structure my sentences like that? For example, would this only happen with questions?

The above story is very nice. I was wondering if the last line could render a more direct translation. Like, "I think I will take photos to remember this day." Any suggestions.

Hi there, In English it would be ‘rims of the glasses’ not ‘rim of the glasses’. The sentence you have written for translation uses the singular, which is incorrect. Rims would be in the plural, not singular. In Spanish it appears the singular is used not the plural ‘frota el borde de los vasos’. Is this correct?
