Le habrá / habría comprado

Hola Inma,

-Juan le compró a su mujer un diamante. -Le habrá comprado un diamante pero no le hace ni caso.

In the above example of yours, is it correct to use le compraría /le habría comprado un diamante pero no le hace ni caso, since le compró is a past accion.

I' m really confused with these two lessons: using el Futuro Simple / Futuro Perfecto to express objection, disbelief and using el Conticional simple / Conticional  Perfecto  to express objection, disbelief.

Muchas gracias!

Hola Ελισάβετ

Yes, there is an overlapping here -when the previous statement is in the past tense, the disbelief/objection sentence can be expressed using the perfect future or the conditional simple:

Statement:

Ella se fue llorando. (She left crying)

Disbelief:

Se iría llorando/Se habrá ido llorando, pero dudo que esté totalmente arrepentida.

She may have left crying, but I doubt she is really sorry.

You could also use the perfect conditional here, but it comes more naturally when the statement is using the pluperfect:

Se había ido llorando -> Se habría ido llorando, pero no creo que esté totalmente arrepentida.

Saludos

Inma
