Is there an opportunity to slow down the speaking voices. I find the masculine voice speaking almost as fast as is possible. Seems very rushed always.

What a beautiful speaking quality! She speaks clearly and distinctly and it was a joy following her. I did not have to depend on the text that much.

The speaker speaks very quickly, but I was able to follow it easily by having the text to accompany the listening. Good practice!

y hace escala en el Amazonas, Barbados y Chile.

Hello,

I was wondering why the singular "el" is used in the sentence : 

"y hace escala en el Amazonas, Barbados y Chile. "  I would have thought it would be plural, as they are going to several destinations and if that doesn't factor in, then the Amazonas are plural or is that considered one country. Also, would it be correct to say: "y hace escala en Amazonas, Barbados y Chile. "  and leave out the "el" ?
