Spanish Comparative
The comparative is a grammatical construction that compares items in one of three ways:
- more ... than
- less ... than
- as ... as
Spanish comparatives vary depending on whether you're comparing adverbs, adjectives, verbs, or nouns.
For example:
Él habla más rápidamente que yo.
He speaks more quickly than I do.
Ella parece tan preocupada como tú.
She seems as worried as you are.
María baila tanto como Sara.
María dances as much as Sara.
Mi jardín tiene tantas plantas como tu patio.
My garden has as many plants as your patio.
Sergio vende menos coches que su compañero.
Sergio sells fewer cars than his colleague.
