Tense and aspect are used to group conjugated verbs according to the time of the action.
Tense tells us broadly when the action occurs on the timeline: past, present or future. Aspect is a sub-group of tense dealing with nuances such as how the action progresses through time, or whether the action happened relative to some other event in time.
