In the above phrase, could 'duchar' be used and what would the difference be in meaning?

The verb for "to have a shower" in Spanish is reflexive, i.e. uses a reflexive pronoun, therefore we always need "ducharse".

In that case, is 'ducharme' used because the infinitive is required corresponding to the first person singular?
