Unas rule

Did I miss a lesson?  I notice in some of the examples Unas is in front of describing what the person is wearing such as  or buying Debo comprar unas camisetas verdes o
unas gafas elegantes..  and it does not translate, what is the rule

Hola Jim,

Yes, sometimes this "unas" is translated as "some" and sometimes the translation is omitted. When it is omitted this is because you see the object as something less specific, for example:

Tengo unas camisetas blancas en el armario.

(I have some white t-shirts in the wardrobe.)

or

Tengo camisetas blancas en el armario.

(I have [some] white t-shirts in the wardrobe.)

Saludos,

Inma
