Yes, "mucho" is only for uncountable nouns.
For countable nouns you then need the other forms in plural: muchos, muchas
Hay muchas personas en el restaurante.
There are lots of people (persons) in the restaurant.
Tenemos muchos vecinos ruidosos.
We have lots of noisy neighbours.
