La gente

Hola,

Muchas gracias,

Hola Amy and Paul

Yes, it makes sense to keep the verb in the 3rd person singular as if always referring to the same subject "la gente", but the subject "ellos" (they) has been included in the English; this is why we are using here the plural "trabajarán", no other reason.

This is a writing exercise where you mark your own answers, so, if you answered in the singular "trabajará" I would say that is also correct.

Saludos

It looks like a mistake to me, irá is singular and the verb trabajar is acting upon the same subject.
