In dictation exercises, punctuation is considered part of the answer, so missing or incorrect punctuation can affect the score. However, it should not normally result in a score of zero if the rest of the text is correct.
If you're consistently receiving a zero score when the only mistakes are punctuation-related, that may indicate an issue with the answer matching for this particular dictation.
