Using todavía no with El Pretérito Indefinido = not yet (negative expression)

To express not yet in Spanish, you use the negative expression todavía no with El Pretérito Indefinido. 

Look at these examples: 

Nosotros todavía no salimos del trabajo.We haven't yet left work.

Ellos todavía no se casaron.They have not yet married.

As you can see, the way to use todavía no is:
todavía no + verb conjugated in El Pretérito Indefinido

However, note that you can also use it in the following order:

no + verb conjugated in El Pretérito Indefinido + todavía

Yo no estudié todavía para el examen.I haven't studied for the exam yet.

Yo todavía no estudié para el examen.I haven't studied for the exam yet.

The negative expression todavía no means not yet, but todavía used on its own has a different meaning = still or even.
