How to ask "When" in Spanish

Learn how to ask "when" in Spanish

To ask when in Spanish we use the interrogative adverb "cuándo".

¿Cuándo...?

Have a look at the following examples. Notice how we always place the interrogative cuándo at the beginning of the interrogative direct sentence:

¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?When is your birthday?

¿Cuándo vas a venir a mi casa? When are you going to come to my house?

¿Cuándo vamos a cenar? When are we having dinner?

¿Cuándo sale tu tren? When is your train leaving?

Remember: the interrogative cuándo has a written accent on the letter a and that syllable is stressed when making a question.
