Seguir and its derivatives: conseguir, perseguir undergo two changes in Spanish in El Presente de Subjuntivo

Notice:

  • how the vowel -e- becomes -i- in all forms.
  • how the -gu- from the infinitive turns into  -gin all forms.

Look at and listen to these examples:

Ella no quiere que yo siga llamándola.
She does not want me to continue calling her.

No sigas por ese camino.
Don't continue in that direction.

Siga a ese señor.
Follow that gentleman.

¡Persigamos a los ladrones!
Let's chase the robbers!
