Hola Paula,
“Tenéis que hacer la compra” is the plural of “Tienes que hacer la compra.”
Thus you [plural] have to do the shopping. Saludos. John

Hola Paula
I added "[you plural informal]" to that sentence, so it's clear which "you" we are referring to.
Saludos

One is a subject and another is an object. In English we can say, “My mom has to buy a car.” or “My parents have to buy a car.” Making the subject plural by changing “my mom” to “my parents” does not make “a car” plural (unless they decide to buy two cars). Same idea in Spanish. Going from “you guys” (teneis) to “you” (tienes) changes the subject but the object of “hacer las compra” does not change.
