why is naranja singular in "las flores naranja"

I don't understand why naranja is plural in one example and singular in the other.

Puedes coger las flores naranja del jardín.You can take the orange flowers from the garden.Estas flores naranjas son muy bonitas. These orange flowers are very pretty.

Hola Janet

As explained in the lesson, the colour adjectives that refer to flowers or fruit (naranja, rosa, violeta) have two correct forms in the plural, as shown in the table. So both are correct:

Las flores naranj

Las flores naranjas

The orange flowers

We can also use the singular form of the adjective (naranja) when accompanying plural nouns (flores).

Saludos
