Four years later, and still no answer to this question. I had the same questions. It appears to me using various online resources, grammar correcting sites, and ChatGPT that the use of articles is optional in some of these situations. It is not clear at all when they HAVE to be used. But if in doubt, it will be the opposite of whatever I write or say!
