Hola Yvonne

I imagine you are referring to this sentence:

Tú no quieres que te regale un perro.  (You don't want me to give you a dog.)

In Spanish, we literally say "You don't want that [I] give you a dog", but that would be incorrect in English. This happens with all sentences saying "I want you, him, her, them +to do something".
