How would I know is I should use ,tengo un Hermano’ or ,tengo el Hermano?’

Un and el are both correct articles, but they are used in different situations.
Tengo un hermano. = I have a brother. (You're introducing the information or mentioning one brother without referring to a specific one.)
Tengo el hermano aquí. = I have my/the brother here. (This refers to a specific brother that is already known from the context. In practice, Spanish would more naturally say Tengo a mi hermano aquí.)
As a general rule, when you're introducing someone or something for the first time, you'll usually use un/una. The definite article el/la is used when you're talking about a specific person or thing that is already known from the context.
