There was, there will be..

I know that "hay" means "there is/are" but how do I say the same in the future & the past?

Past:  Use "había".  It used to be "hubo" but that usage is being discontinued.

Future: "Habrá".  

You can probably search this site for notes on the usage of these words.

Hay = there is/are

Hubo = there was/were (preterite, completed actions)

Había = there was/were (imperfect, descriptive actions)

Ha habido = there has been

Había habido = there had been

Habrá = there will be 

Habría = there would be 

and all the tenses in the subjunctive.

To have more detailed info with lessons on conjugations of haber (impersonal) you can find these lessons in the "search" if you type haber. Have a look at the lessons with titles "Conjugate haber in ... "
