The que change on acercarse

I had to use process of elimination to get the right answer - I couldn't see anywhere it references positively that you sometimes have to change the verb ending to que to go from se acerca to acérquese?

Do you have something to help with that?

Thank you!

Hola Stuart

We do have a lesson on -car verbs in the present subjunctive (change the -c for -qu).

Acérquese is one of these cases (acercar).

You are using a formal command, therefore the present subjunctive is needed. (plus a reflexive pronoun se, as it is used in its pronominal form)

Here is the lesson.

I hope it helps
