Pronunciation of guía

Pronunciation of guía

The second time she says "guía" she pronounces it "Este ría".  Is this common, and is there a rule for when to do this?  Thanks.

Hola Marcos

I had a listen and it's true that the narrator pronounces the word guía slightly different, as if there was an -r somewhere there, but, no, there is no reason for that; it's simply this lady's accent. The gu- should sound as in the English gate, gammon, garlic...  (no -r at all)

Saludos

I also had no idea what she was saying re: este guía. Thanks for the explanation, different accents make things difficult sometimes!

I found this difficult as well. Would be nice if you could filter on the accents as well.
