No verb?

No verb?

"Me llamo Juan". I am confused because there is no verb.   Is it incorrect to say "Me llamo es Juan"?  Where else in Spanish are verbs omitted?

Gracias

Hola Teresa,

As Wes correctly said, there is a verb in that sentence:

Me llamo Juan.

Llamarse is the verb.

We translate it as "My name is" which would also be "Mi nombre es...

But we use this verb "llamarse" to say what your name is more often.

It is as if we said "I call myself..."

Saludos,

Inma

llamo is the verb llamar is the non-conjugated verb.
