modo alguno
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Using alguno, alguna, algunos and algunas to say some, one or any in Spanish (pronouns)"
Asked 3 weeks ago
Hola dleddy14 L.
En modo alguno is a fixed negative expression meaning “in no way”, “not at all” or “by no means”.
Although alguno normally means “some/any”, in certain expressions it takes on a negative meaning.
For example:
No lo haré en modo alguno. = “I will in no way do it”.
So here it’s best to learn en modo alguno as a set expression rather than translating alguno literally.
Saludos
Silvia
