May I know how to use somos if the answer is incorrect in the following sentences?

Nosotros estamos arriba. (We are arrived) . The answer is estamos instead somos. I thought estamos only use in place. Can you please give an example.

Hola Cathy,

I think you misread the English translation for this sentence. The quiz is saying:

Nosotros ___ arriba. (We are upstairs.)

Here we are talking about where we are (place; upstairs = arriba), therefore we need "estamos".

I hope this clarified it.

It is somos beacause nosotros somos arriba means we are here like the way you would say We are here in english so It is not a estar instead ser.

Estar is used for temporary conditions, including location
