Is there a translation for this exercise

Hi,

I was wondering if this is a story from Cervantes or a fairy-tale from the Grimms brothers?

Also, I was wondering if there is an official translation of this, as there are many phrases, etc that are difficult to translate.

Thank you.

Hola Nicole,

Our Spanish teacher Ana created this dictation. The story is about a guy who works as a cleaning guy in a house and talks about his duties, highlighting the importance of the "mop", as a very useful item...

It is not inspired by any classic writer, no. It was a made up text by Ana.

In terms of translations, in dictations we don't offer the English translation because the purpose of the exercise is to practise your listening skill. We suggest in the introduction to look up some words/phrases that we consider are more difficult or idiomatic to help the students.

If you want to make sure about some specific meaning of a sentence in the dictation please let us know. You can have a guess and I am sure some other students will also contribute towards this in the forum.

We'll be more than happy to clarify.

Saludos,

Inma
