I would like to ask about hacía and hizo...

Emanuel B.C1Kwiziq Q&A regular contributor

I would like to ask about hacía and hizo...

Yo veía lo que el hacía/hizo.

Would the first verb mean that e.g. I saw how he was building something and the second that I saw the reault... e.g. a house? Thank you.

Hola Emanuel

Yes, with "Yo veía lo que él hacía", I watched what he was doing. With "Yo veía lo que él hizo." I watched the result, the completed action.

I think this lesson will help you understand the difference with more detail, have a look:

Using the imperfect vs the preterite in Spanish (general use)

Hope it helps
