how is Latin American Spanish different in the use of Hace for weather?

Upon clicking on the lesson, I see this warning, "Note that this is a Europe focused lesson. Your active focus is Latin America.'  .... how are weather talks different in Latin America?

The way people talk about the weather in Spain and Latin American is very similar, using hace, hay and está. However, we have slightly different lessons on this for Spain and Latin America because there are some little differences. You can see how the use of "hace" is a bit more limited in Latin America in this lesson about "hace" for weather expressions. For example, in Latin America it's less common to say "hace sol" or "hace viento", the use of "hay" is more extended.
