For this question, why is the answer "ustedes?"

I don't understand why the answer is "ustedes."  The speaker seems to be talking to a single child which would suggest singular, familiar and not formal and plural.  Help me understand why.

8 Esa película no es apta para ________. Solo tienen 10 años.

That film is not appropriate for you. You are only 10 years old.

(HINT: Use the right pronoun after the preposition.)

Hola Kurt

The correct pronoun is ustedes because that is the pronoun used for either formal or informal you plural in Latin America. In Spain that would have been the informal "vosotros",  but your focus is set as "Latin American", this is why.

I hope it clarifies it.

Saludos

Also, tienen is plural, so there must be more than one child.

This is a bit of a trick question, since the literal English translation "That film is not appropriate for you. You are only 10 years old." would typically taken as singular by native English speakers, because we woud usually say "you all" to indicate plural kids.  (The English sentence is gramatically correct for plural, but I don´t think the majority of US native English speakers would say it that way to a group of kids.)

However, in the question, "Esa película no es apta para ________. Solo tienen 10 años."   And once again, in the second sentence, Spanish sneaks in a plural verb that indicates the speaker is talking to more than one kid, so it is ustedes or vosotros (Spain).
