Hello, May I ask when to use donde vives and de donde eres? how to use it and what's the difference? hehe. We have a Spanish subject and I was thought that my answer in donde vives is where my house is located. On the other hand, my municipality is the answer in the question de donde eres.

Donde vives vs De donde eres
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Using vivo en + [city/country/region] to say where you live in Spanish"
Asked 3 years ago
Hola Paula
We ask ¿De dónde eres? meaning Where are you from?, and this refers normally to where you are originally from. We ask ¿Dónde vives? meaning Where do you live? , and this refers to where your house is, where you are living, independently to where you come from originally.
For example, we can answer to these two questions:
Yo soy de España pero vivo en Inglaterra.
I am (originally) from Spain but I live in England.
Saludos
Inma
