Hola Connor H.
Mother’s Day is celebrated on different dates because each country has its own traditions, history and religious influences.
For example:
-In Spain, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of May.
-In Mexico, it is always on 10 May.
-In the United States, it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May and many other countries follow this tradition too.
-In the United Kingdom, “Mothering Sunday” comes from a Christian tradition and is celebrated in March.
So, even though the idea is the same, celebrating mothers and thanking them, the dates are different because the traditions developed separately in each place.
Saludos
Silvia
