Hola Nicole,
Yes, you can do the combination that you want because it doesn't work like an adjective that needs to agree with siglo/s. It is an "time adverb".
As far as I know this is not only used in Peninsular Spanish, but also in Latin America, but I cannot guarantee 100%.
