With the indefinite articles un/una (= a plural),

I'm not clear on what you mean by "(= a plural)"

"What does "Laura fue actriz cuando era joven." mean?"

When would that sentence be used vs "Laura era actriz cuando era joven."

I am a little confused with this sentence "Sospechamos que María volverá con él". Do we not use el subjunivo of Sospechar i.e. Sospechemos que ...?

It seems to me that it is a statement of opinion or one of uncertainty, not a statement of fact.

Las aceitunas __ en septiembre with deber and not tener que For me the next question would have been with a hint added to use deber and not tener que. Maybe i am wrong, maybe tener que means something else...Las aceitunas ________ en septiembre. The olives must be harvested in September.

Why is the preposition 'a' is used with this comparison?

I noticed these two sentences used the preposition 'a' instead of 'que' in these sentences. Is there a reason why?

Las ventas fueron superiores a los costes.

The sales were higher than the expenses.

Los costes fueron inferiores a las ventas.

The expenses were lower than the sales.

Test question.

Hi Inma,

Here's the test question:

¿Vienes a la Fiesta? No puedo. _____el partido en la tele.(Are you coming to the party? I can't. I am planning to watch the match on TV.)

Answer: Iba a ver.

Everytime this question comes up, I get it wrong because the English translation " I am planning to watch the team on T.V." Hence I answer iré a ver.

Would the english translation rather be " I was planning to watch the team on T.V.

Another question. Is there a difference between iré a ver VERSUS voy a ver? I am aware one is future tense and the other is present tense.
