Learn about numbers in Spanish

Numbers in Spanish are always masculine.

Read and listen to these examples:

El 3 es mi número favorito.3 is my favourite number.

Tengo el 7 para ti.I have number 7 for you.

El 13 es el número de la mala suerte.Number 13 is the unlucky number.

Carmen necesita el 100 para ganar.Carmen needs number 100 to win.

Note in the examples above that the article is used in Spanish in front of the number.

Bear in mind that when we are using numbers to talk about time (referring to hours: las horas) we use the feminine article. See Using A + la/las + [time] to say at what time something takes place in Spanish
