First, a butcher proclaims the quality of his lamb and, next, a fishmonger announces the arrival of seafood from the estuary. Some buyers bargain with infinite patience while others accept the offers without questioning them. In that atmosphere, the aromas of spices reinforce the sense of abundance and the colors of the vegetables fill the space with life. The sellers lower their voices and the customers scatter. Finally, the market goes quiet and falls into complete silence.
