The Pan-American Highway is a network of highways that connects almost all the countries of the American continent, from Alaska in the far north to Ushuaia in Argentina, in the extreme south. This impressive road has a rich and complex history, full of challenges and notable achievements. One of the biggest obstacles was traversing the diverse terrains and climates of the Americas. From the extreme cold of Alaska, passing through the dense jungles of Central America, to the high peaks of the Andes, construction required ingenious solutions and considerable labor. Despite there being an unfinished section between Panama and Colombia, this infrastructure has facilitated trade, tourism and cultural integration between American nations. Today, millions of travelers venture along its routes.
