Spanish Near Future

El Futuro próximo is used in Spanish to express actions that are going to happen in the near future. In English, the near future is formed by using [to be going to] + verb.

How to form El Futuro Próximo in Spanish:

ir [in present tense] + a + second verb [in the infinitive]

Look at these examples:

Yo voy a coger el tren en una hora.I am going to catch the train in an hour.

Tú vas a ir de vacaciones el viernes.You are going to go on holiday on Friday.

Ella va a cambiar de trabajo la semana que viene.She's going to change jobs next week.
