Without the Preposition?

The lesson says, "Sometimes, when we talk about putting or attaching things on people, animals or things we still use the indirect object pronouns without the preposition." In the examples of this that are given, what preposition is not being used? Thanks!

Hola Rod

We mean that we don't use the preposition "a" with the pronoun. We just use the short pronoun. Here are two example sentences from the lesson:

¡Ven Canela! Te voy a poner la correa.

Come Canela! I am going to put the lead (US: leash) on you.

Mi madre me puso el gorro.

My mum put my hat on me.

We don't need to add "a ti" or "a mi".

Saludos
