Why not subjunctive?

Why not subjunctive?

te recomendaría que exploraras las ruinas en la selva y disfrutar la naturaleza

In this phrase why isn't the second verb following recomendar also a subjunctive?

Also I'm not sure why we would say tesoro español o tesoro gótico but tesoro maya is invariable

Gracias

Hola David

Regarding the use of the infinitive in "te recomendaría disfrutar la naturaleza" instead of "te recomendaría que disfrutaras la naturaleza", both options are correct. If you go back to the lesson that is linked to that sentence in the exercise, by the end, we explain that sometimes you find the infinitive after this type of verbs instead of que + subjunctive (despite having two different subjects in the main clause and the subordinate clause).

Also, the adjective "maya" is an invariable adjective (same as inca or azteca, by the way) - they follow the rule of adjectives that end in -e or -a, which are invariable: lesson adjectives -e /-a

Here is also a list with some common invariable adjectives.

I hope it helps.

Saludos
