Is is possible to explain when to use tener alittle more? I found on the internet that we use tener when talking about an abstract noun or direct object. Is that correct? If so then when do I use mide+measurement etc. ?

Hola Raul
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "abstract nouns" or "direct objects" in this context. When we use mide or tiene... for measurements we are always talking about physical things or people. If you could send some example sentence that you saw on the internet we could have a look and explain.
